Why in my name can the "c" be raised?

My name is McKenna, and it seems like everyone when they write my name they raise the "c" so that it is aligned with the top of the capital "M" and "K" and sometimes it's underlined. Another thing, I don't understand why my "K" is capital either, it's just something i've wondered for awhile just want to know if anyone knows.
